A Canary in a Coal Mine was recently co-authored with Dr. John Powers. John always had a knack for looking over the horizon to see the core ideas and needs that should be addressed. Last April we began the book out of concern for our nation. We worked to get as much done as possible before his transplant to fight cancer.

He submitted his last entry on September 9. One month later to the day, he died.

We always saw this as a resource for the evangelical Christian community. According to the Pew Research Center, 6-7% of the evangelicals sat on their ballots in 2020. Look what we got! We must bear part of the responsibility.

This year will be pivotal in the story of America. We must have the Christian community educated and engaged as we march toward November. You have significant influence with your family, friends, community leaders, and fellow church members. In turn, they also have an influence on a substantial portion of voters. These are a waiting army of patriots. They could be the deciding factor in November 2024.

This was John’s last word to the church and to the nation. It is a needed word for this moment. Such a time might never come again.
